Workplace Giving is independent. Leavely pays for the upkeep.
This site exists to be useful to UK HR teams thinking about workplace giving — payroll giving, matched giving, paid volunteer leave, fundraising. The editorial is written by an independent team. Leavely is the named sponsor — they cover hosting, content, and the cost of keeping the site free of trackers, ads, and email gates.
What Leavely actually does
Leavely is leave-management software for small UK companies — typically 5 to 50 staff. It tracks holiday, sickness, parental leave, TOIL, and — the bit that connects to this site — paid volunteer days as a distinct leave type. If you offer one volunteer day a year, you can run it on a spreadsheet. Above that, a leave tool quickly pays back.
What sponsorship does — and doesn't — change
- Editorial independence. Leavely doesn't see articles before they go live. They get no veto, no preview, no input on topic selection.
- Where Leavely is mentioned. In the header bar, footer, this page, and contextually in employee volunteering articles where it is genuinely relevant. Not in unrelated pieces.
- Other tools we recommend. Benevity, Percent, BambooHR, Charlie HR, etc. — when they're the right answer.
- No tracking beyond Cloudflare Web Analytics. No Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel, no third-party retargeting.
Why this model
Most "free" HR content sites online are funded by lead-gen — your details get sold, your inbox gets pummelled, the site itself is paper-thin. We didn't want to do that. Sponsorship from one named brand, disclosed everywhere, lets us write long-form content that actually answers the question, without an email-capture form between every paragraph.
If sponsorship ever conflicts with editorial, the editorial wins. That's the deal.
